RainbowBiz are celebrating receiving a grant of £32,419 from People’s Health Trust, using money raised by The Health Lottery in Wales.

This existing two-year project provides support for local residents of the Connah’s Quay area of Deeside in Flintside, Wales. The group provides a regular opportunity for participants to meet socially and take part in community gardening or social activities.

The project enables individuals experiencing isolation as a result of disability or mental health issues to gain confidence and become more independent and connected to the local community. The project is volunteer-led, with existing and new volunteers shaping the delivery and development.

Chris Lunn, The Health Lottery in Wales spokesperson, said: “We are delighted that money raised through Health Lottery Wales is supporting such important local projects. Already, over £5.4 million has been raised for Health Lottery Wales, which helps to make a difference for these local good causes groups.”

Health Lottery Wales is benefitting from Health Lottery tickets sold for all draws being held between 1 May and 31 May 2019. You can purchase Health Lottery tickets in advance for these draws online at www.healthlottery.co.uk or from over 32,000 retailers nationwide including The Post Office, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Morrisons and WH Smith.
