Supporting Motion Control: The weekly dance club for adults in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Motion Control Dance are celebrating receiving a £11,817 grant from the People’s Health Trust, using money raised by Health Lottery in Wales.

This two-year project was developed from a pilot in 2015 and will deliver weekly dance sessions for adults with disabilities in the Vale of Glamorgan, where there is currently no other provision for such activity.

The dance sessions will enable participants to make new friends, be active and develop their confidence and skills. Members will learn from professional dance tutors, as well as from each other, as they will be an integral part of the creative process each weeks. There will also be the opportunity for participants to perform at local community events.

Chris Lunn, The Health Lottery in Wales spokesperson, said: “The funds raised through The Health Lottery in Wales are changing and improving lives. It was clear that supporting Motion Control Dance would have a great benefit to the local community.”

To date, over £100 million has been raised by The Health Lottery for good causes across Great Britain, of which £5.4 million has been raised for Wales.

Health Lottery Wales is benefitting from Health Lottery tickets sold for all draws being held between 1 May and 31 May 2019. You can purchase Health Lottery tickets in advance for these draws online at www.healthlottery.co.uk or from over 32,000 retailers nationwide including The Post Office, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Morrisons and WH Smith.
